State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine Lancaster Theatre reviews
A Let-Down After Previous Years
I've always had a difficult time planning out my days, trying to see each one of the amazing acts. There was no value associated with the concert to keep us there. One thing that marketing research has shown is that free product is perceived to be of less value than product that you pay for. This year, I couldn't have cared less about seeing most of the bands, and frankly, if the festival hadn't been free I wouldn't have gone. My whole crew of 6 people ended up leaving at 4:00. If Virgin Fest hadn't been free, I wouldn't have gone, because I've attended for the past two years, always perfectly willing to shell out the $200+ for both days of the festival plus a hotel room, because the line-ups have been great. I appreciate what Virgin Mobile was trying to do with throwing a free festival, and know that it was a big risk on their parts. Again, I appreciate what Virgin tried to do, but next year, they should stick with an amazing lineup and charge for it. I'll spend the money for a line-up that's worth it, and I think most others will too.
